Nigerian rapper, Sauce Kid, also known as Sinzu, was recently released from prison and has revealed that being behind bars gave him time to reflect and put plans in place for his music career. The rapper served a two-year sentence for card fraud in a US federal prison and was released in March this year. He was charged with conspiracy to commit bank fraud, eight counts each of bank fraud and aggravated identity theft, and possession of 15 or more fraudulent bank cards. Speaking about his time in prison in an interview with Moni Talks, Sauce Kid said he could have done a lot in the two years he spent behind bars. He said: “It is two years I can’t take back. I could have done a whole lot in that two years but at the same time, it gave me time to figure out a plan and execute.” The rapper, born Babalola Falemi, said he “was keeping up with who is popping” while he was in prison. “I heard some of Burna Boy’s stuff, Wiz’s stuff, David’s stuff,” he said. Music artiste, Wizkid has announced his fourth studio album will soon be released. In an interview with a British DJ Tim Westwood after his Afrorepublik concert at the O2 Arena in London, Wizkid said his fourth studio album will be titled ‘ Made in Lagos’. According to the ‘Come Closer’ singer, the album will not feature any artiste. “The new album is called Made in Lagos, Wizkid Made in Lagos; 10 tracks, no features just straight Wizkid,” he said. “My collaboration with Skepta is also in the works, it will drop very soon. I don’t want to say anything more on that.” Wizkid, who headlined a sold-out concert at the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena, said he owed the success of the event to artistes and producers who made the world believe in African music. He was also Chairman of Punch Commercial Printing Limited and Lukahed Properties Limited. He attended the Government College, Ibadan and trained as a pilot in the United States. A sports enthusiast and philanthropist, he was the founder and chairman of the Dolphins Female Basketball Foundation, and also a former chairman of the Lagos State Basketball Association.
