Champions League: Eden Hazard reacts to Real Madrid’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea
Real Madrid midfielder, Eden Hazard, has said it is always a good thing to play against “friends”, after their 1-1 draw with Chelsea in the Champions League semi-final first leg on Tuesday night.
His replacement at Stamford Bridge, Christian Pulisic gave the Blues the lead in Spain, before Karim Benzema levelled with a sublime effort.
“It’s always good to play against friends.
“I have a couple of friends over there. Now I’m a Real Madrid player. I just want to win. It doesn’t matter if it is against Chelsea or another team,” Hazard told BT Sport.
Hazard came off the bench to play the last 25 minutes at the Alfredo di Stefano Stadium.
But ahead of the second leg on May 5 in London, the Belgian feels he is “in better condition” and ready to make an impact.
“In the last game [against Real Betis] I played 15 minutes, today I played a bit more. We have a couple of good games to play until the end of the season. I just want to be ready for them.
“I feel in better condition, my body’s better, so I’m just happy I can play again,” he said.
