DAILY POST reports that Ebisike polled 10,322 votes to defeat his challengers from the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mascot Uzor Kalu who scored 3674 votes, and All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Akaraka Destiny Nwagwu, who polled 1554 votes.

Ebisike will now fill the vacancy caused by the death of Ossy Prestige, the constituency’s former representative who died in Germany from undisclosed illness.

While reacting in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday morning, the APGA Candidate, Nwagwu, said he had accepted the outcome of the rerun election in good faith.

According to him, “I have just called him, Chimaobi Ebisike on phone and congratulated him on his victory. I will only urge him to ensure dividends of democracy get to the doorsteps of Aba people. Aba need infrastructural facelift. I congratulate once again”.

The APGA chieftain used the medium and thank the APGA National and State Working Committee members, teeming supporters, friends and associates for their immense supports during the poll.

He further commended the security agencies in the state for their dedication which ensured violence-free exercise.
