Kelechi Iheanacho Is Remarkable As The First Player In FA Cup To Be Used As First Substitute

Manchester City player, Kelechi Iheanacho is the first footballer in the history of the FA Cup to be the fourth substitute for a team.

n 2016, the Football Association (FA), England’s governing body of football, made a new rule allowing clubs to use a fourth substitute in extra time. However, this rule took effect from the quarter-finals.

During Man City’s semi-final match against Arsenal on Sunday, Iheanacho was brought in as a substitute for Raheem Sterling in extra time. This was obviously a desperate attempt by the Citizens to push their luck as they were losing 1-2 to the Gunners. But that didn’t change anything.
