5 Most Stylish Footballers in the Nigerian Team

The recently concluded AFCON 2019 had a total of 24 African teams vying for the ultimate football glory in the African continent.

Even though Nigeria couldn’t make it past the semi-final stage and were beaten by the ultimate champions Algeria 2-1 in the last-four, there were quite a few names in the Nigerian squad that stood out both on and off the field.

Keeping things light, we will have a brief look at the off-field matters of some of the well-known Nigerian footballers, and tell you about the five most stylish of them!

These players are well known to make a statement each time they step out and some of them are pretty bold in terms of their fashion sense. Let’s go over them below.

Alex Iwobi

Not too long ago, Alex Iwobi was recognized as the most well-known footballer from Nigeria. The player is very active on his social media accounts, particularly on Instagram. He recently moved to Everton from Arsenal in a 5 year deal amounting to £ 34 million. All major football predictions suggest that he will prove to be the main Everton man in the times to come. Talking about his fashion sense, Iwobi can be often seen with shoulder-length dreads, and a fashion style that resembles more of that of a London city boy. You would often see him appearing quite edgy, yet grounded like a nice mama’s boy. It doesn’t come as a surprise that the former Arsenal midfielder is the poster boy of the Nigerian national squad.

Oghenekaro Etebo

He plays for Stoke City, the English Second Division team. Voted as the best player in Stoke City for his performance in the last EFL season, Etebo has quite some swag both off as well as on the football pitch. He comes across as more of a Lagos big boy each time you see him making public appearances away from the football field.

Victor Osimhen

The former African Youth Player of the Year for the under-20 side, Victor Osimhen plays as a striker for Charleroi in the Belgian Pro League. One of the exciting Nigerian prospects who was on display in the recent AFCON 2019, Osimhen is pretty quick on the field and has excellent dribbling and goal-scoring abilities.

His fashion sense is also in line with his age, a lot of carefree and exuberating with youth. You will always see him sporting a blonde hairstyle that looks very good on him too!

Leon Balogun

Both Leon Balogun and the next player on this list, William Troost Ekong make-up for a very solid Super Eagles defense, and together they are referred to as ‘Oyinbo Wall’. He has more of a relaxed fashion sense, which is definitely not shy.

William Troost Ekong

The other half of the ‘Oyinbo Wall,’ William Troost Ekong has a more audacious and bold fashion style, as against his defensive partner. He seems comparatively more chilled out about his game as well as style, perhaps also the reason why the pair has been so successful for Super Eagles over the past couple of years.
